Running without an outfit or solo is completely doable in PS1, but increases the difficulty of the environment you’ll be running in. Others have done it and thrive. The negative hit you’ll take from solo play is reduced situational awareness (squad members radar is shared), and reduced fall back options.

Nope. You don't need to. You'll miss out on a lot of gameplay that makes planetside into planetside though. I lone wolf all the time, however I also hang out on vent/ts3 and in squad with others just as much.

Finding a group of people to play with will extend your interest in the game by 500%. I wouldn't have played WoW nearly as long if I didn't have fun raiding with people in Ventrillo.
At the same time, it can be a double-edged sword. Having to sit around and wait for slow pokes or afk's to join the group, playing a class that is needed even though you might prefer something else, random drama over stupid stuff that can shatter a guild, and even getting yelled at over voip when things don't go your way. The trick is finding the right group of people. Don't feel guilty about dropping out of an outfit if it's not a good fit. I'm sure there will be plenty that are scrambling for recruits. |
