Lest say prone was coming into the game for a temperary trial? What would there be restrictions on, Will first off maxes and and big weapons could not go prone unless you switched to a smaller weapon and got prone. There would be NO dolphin dives, because we all know that jumping into a door way with a camper/tactically placed person is just to easy. There would be a 1 second duration from up to down and back to up. Infultratiors have to have 50% of there cloak off or just all of it because people can't move as a group and have an inferred scoop person that can detect the sniper, because heaven forbid that you move in Groups! You could only see as far up as your spine will let you because it's not really fair. You can only move slowly turning on the ground so that you can't do a 360 in a second moving. Good example for prone would be arma 2 if any one watches it. |

lol you all sound like COD kiddies. Prone =/= camping. Prone =/= dolphin diving.
Maybe you know prone from cod only. ahah. You are really close minded. In real war the way you defend areas is by having a DEFENSIBLE POSITION, which is what you all call "camping." Prone is a major part of that. It is how war works. You need to man up and stop whining. |

Prone causes camping because generally you move much slower in prone. When people go prone they probably don't plan to be moving a lot. Prone also makes attacking a base much more difficult because the size of the enemy target just shrunk by 75%. A couple guys laying prone in a chokepoint with powerful weapons can take out many many attackers. This game isn't designed to be some military sim. It's a massive scale arcade style action game and I'm glad there will be no prone. |

On what planet was Planetside 1 anything even close to realistic? We're spacemans with lasers running around in bright red, blue or purple armor. It's comically arcade-y, and it's fine for what it is. Nobody with a brain thinks that Planetside has any business trying to be realistic.

If prone were put into the game, it would probably have to be limited to LA and infiltrators. LA would likely never use it, since their best defense is to get air born, not lay on the ground. Infiltrators would likely only use it for sniping, and they have a cloaking device so... why bother? Modern military games like CoD include it because their body armor is very very light and flimsy in comparison to Bomb Squad style armor of HA and Riot Gear armor of LA. In the field it's just not practical. Realism still wins. Last edited by Blackwolf; 2012-06-02 at 07:22 PM. |
