SO I been fuckin around with video poker for like 3 years since I moved to a casino town. I got off work, went to the bar to pound a few beers before going home and screwing around on the internet before bed, and while I am at the bar, and if anyone knows casino bars there are slot machines on every on of em. So I put in a few dollars just playing 25 cents a hand, with the max bet being 5 quarters, but I never do that.

So like 10 hands delt, winning and loosing, I actually hit a royal flush. Been waiting 3 years to do this. Just to say I HIT ONE! Well the bad news is if I had played 5 quarters instead of one, I would of won 1200 $$ off .25 CENTS. But I am not big gambler and never max out the bets. But the good news is that I took that .25 cents and made it into 63$$$

SCORE for me. I was very happy! Not even the money just the fact that I finally got that MOFO ROYAL!!!!!!!!!!

and yeah, I know exactly the machines you're talkin about. never actually seen a royal on one however....lucky stiff. I'd kill for one on the dollars...altho it'd likely kill me too.

In my misguided youth I played poker... alot, enough to actually stop doing anything else and just play poker (for 6 months, then the stres got to me, and real jobs became far more attractive)

The funny thing, in what has to be millions of hands by now, I have never recieved or seen a royal flush. That includes 7 stud, hold'em and many other poker varients... never.

Kinda feel cheated in all honesty, I wouldn't feel bad If I was holding a kings ace full house and got beat by a royal at this point... just to see the fucking thing!

So gratz rev... even if it is just video poker it's still pretty kick ass...

i havent read anything in this post lol except the world poker tour is the shit to watch.

depends what youre playing but on average the chance of a royal flush is 1 in 20 thousand

Poker is the ONLY thing I bet on that relies unreasonably on chance. I nearly always win. Also, if you decide to use the machines, use the machines closer to the entrance. The designers put the "fairest" (Fair in math terms: Odds=Payoff or Payoff>Odds; those never happen, but I'm talking closest) slots/poker/blackjack/anything that dispenses coins closest to the entrance. They want people coming in to hear quarters clinking. Easily exploitable psychology. But I'm sure that trick is well-known, although not many listen and drift to the center or back where risk is high and payoff is shit.

It's kinda funny I got a friend that owns a small local bar and he told me the video poker guy comes in each week and asks him what setting he wants it on like : Alot of people win, no winning at all, average, or whacko changes like someones mind on speeds.
