Servers and Empiers

Hey Im about to buy PlanetSide, Ill have it tomorrow. I was wondering what, in your opinion, is the best Empier and what the difference the different severs (At least I *think* theyre servers - Markov, Johari, Emerald, Konried, and Werner)?

Oh come on, I know youll all look at this and think Im a n00b and that theres no point in posting a replie but I really want to make the right choise, I want to make sure I know what Im doing if Im gonna be paying a monthly fee...

There is nothing you need to know from the forums about what server and what empire you need to choose.... you should join the server closest to ur location to cut some lag, then you should select the empire that best appeals to you!!

Emerald is your best choice as a server, mainly because it is the highest populated server, and is (for the most part) balanced... Markov comes pretty close as well. To pick an empire is like picking out clothes... You need to try different empires until you find what fits correctly to your liking. You may like the look of one empire, whereas you like the weapons of another. I suggest not what empire to be, but to make a VS, NC, and TR on three different servers (except Emerald, if that's what you choose), and try 'em out. You'll eventually find out which one best suits you. Also, you can read the FAQ here on PSU to get some info on the empires. Hope this helps.

There is no best or worst server, in all honesty you should not have to ask others for thier opinions, just go with what you want. as per location its pretty simple:
US West servers are on the West coast
US East servers are...... on the East coast
and the European server... oh my is in Europe.


Just jump on one server, closer to your location, I live in Australia, so I figured US West will be my closest. there is no best or worst server just what gives you better pings and latency.

Lets see.

On Emerald, the population is NOT balanced between empires after about 21h00 EST. That's about when the NC zerg starts EVERY day. At this time, the NC outnumber both other empires combined. I'm pretty sure about this.

On Konried, the TR outnumber everyone almost constantly. The NC have a couple of decent leaders there, but for the most part are unable to sustain lengthy assaults against the sheer numbers the TR toss around. At 04h00 EST, it seems that the VS wake up and start wasting everyone.

Yeah, there is no "best" empire... While installing the game, you can read the description of each empire and chose which one you want to play. Or you do it like I did: Just chose the empire with the colours you like

The goal is to create a world where no empire has a advantages, and I think the devs > are on the best way < to reach it.
