I think my video card (Geforce 4 MX420) has a TV out (it has another round slot thats empty, so I'm guessing thats to connect to the VCR/TV).
Just wondering how I can get it setup so it shows on the TV and I can record with the VCR and all the other stuff thats required to make it happen. What do I need to buy etc. I think I can Adobe Premier for free so don't worry about that.

In the packaging there should have been an adapter that changes that round connector to a AV cable (you know the ones, the red yellow and white connectors they use for video game consoles and stuff) if you don't have that connector any more, you are going to have to find one. not sure where you should look though.

Hmmmm, the proscess should be to just plug the cable into you soundcard and then into your TV. I suggest you do a google search for a cable that start as that little round output (not sure of its name) and ends in AV cable. I don't know where you get it exactly, but let me see what I can find.
/em searches.

Sorry dude, came up with nothing. Try contacting the manufacturer of the card and asking them, I am sure they have a couple lying around and sometimes they even send em to you for free. Either way, I think your best bet is with the manufacturer. Good luck.

I emailed the manufacturer about it. Their reply:

hi I am in the UK so I am not sure how this varies but what I have done is connect an s-video to s-video cable from my s-video out socket on my Radeon 9700NP to my S-VHS VCR.
Also from the line out on my sound card I connected a 3.5mm to phono cable to my VCR audio inputs also to record sound. Then from the back of the VCR I have an s-video to s-video cable which plugs into an s-video/composite adaptor that then plugs into my TV capture card. The audion out from my VCR in the form of phono to 3.5mm cable goes into the audio in of my capture card and from there I ess around capturing the footage. However as of yet I have not been able to get it to capture decent quality for some reason.
