Soe making game uneven on purpose?

anyone else besides me think that soe is purposely over compensating when they try to supposively " even out the empires" just to throw some curves in the game? it seems like a likely possibility to me... or the entire company is fuilled with fucktards

Hmmmmm, despite how evil they may appear, , they are still bussinessmen and women who are in it for the money, $$, I don't see any way that purposefully mucking with the ballance, although quite evil, , would make them any more money, $$$, wich is their goal. Just my 2 cents.

I dont see what benifit they get from unbalancing the game on purpose. If you think they are all fucktards, why dont you go start a company and see what happens.

The game is purposely unbalanced in certain areas. ie, Magrider vs Vanguard. Magrider owns infantry more than a Vanguard, Vanguard owns vehicles more than a Magrider. Subtle differences to spice up the game.

Achieving "balance" is more or less impossible.

The problem is that you are not just dealing with the numbers (and when you are trying to introduce some variety as well, that isn't easy), but player perceptions. Unfortunately (but predictably), perceptions and reality can vary widely. Sometimes very widely.

also due to ther ebeing different classes, unless you separately balance out each class [eg max's] you will always want to be on the best max team if you are a max. if they balance them all out, then all the empires will be effectively the same

This type of rational, common sense, well meaning drivel means you might not be cut out for forum posting. I suggest you try to add some phrases like, "teH l4sh3r SUX IT!" and, "omfg! i am gonna cancel!" so that people will take you seriously.

I completely agree. Take Starcraft, for example. Very well balanced game, but you will easily be able to find many people who are convinced that one side is clearly superior to the others, due to whatever factors pissed them off. The reality of the situation, however, is that they simply don't understand the game well enough to comprehend how the game is balanced.

That, and some people always let their personal emotions -- often which are based on very limited actual experience -- interfere with their ability to think rationally on the subject. Guy gets wasted a couple times in the spawn tube by a mini-chaingun, and there's a chance he'll run to the forums and complain about how hideously overpowered the mini-chaingun is, for instance.
