Question about armor (infantry)

Anyone know if reinforced armor provides additional protection over agile armor other than the fact that it has an additional 50 armor points? Does it absorb that damage per armor point better or anything like that? Does it cover more area (does this make a difference in PS)? Thanks, cause I'm thinking about selling it back for some vehicles certifications since running everywhere gets old...

Area does not matter. Being shot in the head does the same damage as being shot in the foot. While this is less realistic, it saves on gobs of lag(which is needed with so many players). As far as your question goes, I'm not real sure. But I know frag grenades tend to be more deadly to Reinforced armor than Agile.

It keeps you alive longer yes, but it makes you slower. A lot of players will say that they use agile over Reinforced because with surge and a little bit of skill you can dodge some shots and kill the person before they do that much damage to you.

But still, the biggest plus of reinforced is its two gun slots. I'd hate only being able to carry around one gun all the time...Yuck. :-/

I don't need two guns on my back to be effective, one decimator in my inventory and a jackhammer in my rifle slot. Sure if there's a heavy battle I'll throw on reinforced and charge into a base and such but I usually die quick like that, with agile I get in quick and use surge to assassinate people that don't even see me pop around the corner.

Yeah that's a downer, but for my setup I've decided I'm just going to be using the Lasher and try not to get into any fights where I would be forced to use a gun that's better for medium + range. As it is, I've just been using the pulsar in my 2nd slot for its mediocre sniping capabilities.

If pretty much the only difference is the extra 50 armor points then I can sacrifice that easily. I hate being slow too, I prefer to dodge bullets and use my good aim to beat the enemy, rather than going toe to toe and seeing who has the most raw firepower.

In my new setup I'd find myself rather cramped for inventory room but I always end up carrying around way too much ammo as it is so I can live with that as well. I don't tend to stay alive long enough to use it all up (and when I do stay alive a long time, it's cause there's no enemies to fight so no ammo used).

My fav setup with my terran is agile w/ sweeper shotgun
My fav setup with my vanu is agile w/ Lasher

I dont think reinforced is worth being slow and not being able to fly. Flying vehicles are the most fun. The 2nd rifle slot is tempting though, but i must say no.

Im a poet and didnt even know it. Everytime i make it rhyme. <------

My plan is to drop reinforced, pick up reaver + engineering to transport myself, and in fights I'd use the reaver under the right cirumstances (poor anti-air, maybe lots of infantry outside in the open). When the battle would go inside a base or something, I'd land my reaver, then go in and tear it up w/ my lasher, or just sit outside and support with the reaver. I think that gives me pretty good versatility, and if I have agile armor, I don't have to worry about finding an equipment terminal to switch armors so I can pilot.
