Question Cloacker needs a few tips

Terran Republic, BR14, Werner.

Nick is- Bl4ckLotuS.

Usually my inverntroy consists of the following- an AMP at the pistol slot, 2 ammo clips, A REK and a jammer nade.

Certs are Infilt suit (of course), Adv. Hacking, MAX Pounder, Mosq and an AMS, if I remeber correctly...

Implants are DL and Adv. Targeting.

I like the AMP. That is the weapon I have used all the time (that, and sometimes plasma nades).

Yet. I wanted a change. I traded in my trusty mosq and my AMS for CE.

Now my inventory consists of 4 ACE's (one at the pistol slot) and a REK.

I also have Melee Booster instead of Adc. Targeting, DL still there.

Now all of this (useless) info is only a presentation for my question-

Can I get some tips on how to be a CE?

Your prime targets in enemy bases should be :
Vehicle terminal.
Spawn tubes.
And ... well, all other equipment. More smashed euipment = more NTU drain and less for the nemies to use.

Other than that, blowing up their soldiers is a good thing to do as well, of course =)

Doors are going to be your big enemy - whenever I see a door open, but noone stepping through, I hit my DL button right away. You'll need patience, and a good place near the door to sit. Wait for an enemy to walk through, then walk behind him through it.

Boomers on the vehicle terminals are the best. Also place them inside the CC door, especially on an enemy controlled and unhackable base. So many guys just run in there to check the cc, you'll start getting kills.

I would suggest swapping an implant for surge, some of the scariest times for me ingame are the ones where i know there is a surging CE cloaker about.

infiltrators have no armor. surge drains stamina depending on how much armor you have. while it's not infinite, surge + infiltrator = a whole hell of a lot of running at really fast speeds. it's an unbeatable 'oh hell I've been seen' safety feature.

I've even been on the recieving end of an infiltrator that turned on surge and danced around me at light speed only half invisible, shooting me with an AMP. I died because I spent the first half second saying 'wtf is this?!'

While inside buildings, my Thumper is loaded with Plasma nades. At times like this I shoot myself in the foot. Granted I take a healthy serving of heated goodness to the nuts, but Plasma's burn up cloakers like paper.

While your 4 ACE loadout is nice for a bit, I rarely use my 4 ACE loadout. It's overkill which will limit you in too many situations. The loadout I use 90% of the time right now is the Repeater (replace with AMP if that's your preference), one box of ammo, an REK and 2 ACEs. Holding on to more ammo is an absolute waste as grabbing ammo out of backpacks of your kills can keep you in bullets for as long as you need it, assuming you aren't in a large battle where backpacks are disappearing the second they appear. Using a boomer to kill an individual soldier is pretty, but a waste of an ACE so having a pistol to do the occasional dirty work is always nice.
Learn to love the Boomer. As an infil CE, you'll use the Boomer almost exclusively in 'hot' situations. After you've secured a tower it's time to load a favorite with tons of ACEs and mine and turret the surrounding area, then get back into your infil config. If the tower isn't completely secure, go to your 4 ACE loadout and try to secure the tower with mines and turrets, keeping the REK in case somebody slips by and nobody else in the tower is paying attention and it gets hacked away.
The key to the Boomer is to place it in high traffic areas that people would have little reason to be using DL. You're better off if there are no other infil around who might not be as careful as you and who might tip the enemy off. If you're in a base under siege, you know that the enemy will be coming for the spawn room and for the CC. Once their push has gotten close to either location, start planting Boomers inside doors, you can normally take out the first 2-3 people that bother poking their heads in. If they haven't pushed that far yet, plant your Boomers in the stairwells. They're always highly trafficked and the zerg doesn't look down at their feet.
Don't underestimate the power of a Boomer on a vehicle. I've done enough damage to finish off many Vanguards and Magriders with a single Boomer as they try to pin our people inside towers. My normal strategy involved leaping off the top of the tower to try and drop behind vehicles pinning us inside, then crouch walking and placing Boomers and trying to take the vehicles out. Be careful of placing proximity mines in these situations as enemys will often trip them before you get clear of the blast.
There are some situations where Spitfires will be useful in the field (mainly as a distraction so that you can get a kill on somebody) and mines at times, but with so few ACEs you'll end up using the boomer almost exclusively. And remember, Boomers do stick on walls! Enjoy.

You're Terran and using the AMP?

The repeater is much for versatile, sure you can't kill at really close range as quick, but you can take out enemies at the vehicle pad from two floors up with it

I found adv. targeting next to useless as an infil, since I choose my targets based on how many enemies are around, not their health (since you can take down a full reinforced easily anyway).

Surge is good, melee booster is great for taking down snipers/AA guys on the walls and roof (two on secondary to take down a reinforced, four on primary). On the issue of sniper killing, it's another great infil task. Get into the base as soon as you can (preferably while your team is still outside the base) and up onto the walls, then just kill as many AV/sniper grunts as possible.

However, I'd say get audio amp if you are a hacker, never get shot in the back again

Medic is great since you can't afford to carry med kits (and 1000 health in a 3x3 slot is nothing to be sniffed at).

Just made an infil and gave him a whirl. First two tips I can provide are:

1. Be patient. A single target can be found, just stay out of sight and keep your eyes open.

2. Don't run when you're anywhere near a base. People will spot you and flip on DL in an instant.

Yes I did, and you also killed me.

Oh and- you are that vanu guy that offered us a challenge, no? My outfit is TRA....

I don't like repeater. I like to get right next to them and emtpy a clip of AMP ammo at them. well usually it's not a full clip, but you get where i'm going, no?

Those tips that I got..... 2 problems-

1) Lag. my comp is not that good....and doing most of those things require a non-laggy comp. well I would put an example, but no power to press Back and look at them.... I'm counting on my poor, poor memory...

2) Those things require, well, ya know..... TALENT! LIKE WTF????!!11

Ok serisouly....
I'm not a noob. BR14 :P
I get my fair share of kills.
It's just that, well, No other weapon really works for me. Not that I tried other weapons, but I am sure they will not work for me.

I should try out the repeater. Tried it once as a noob, way back, like 2 minutes ago. i guess I need some practice....

I like adv. targeting, for my mosq. Althlough audio amp sounds much better, now that I think about it....

The truth is I was about to abandon CE, but now, after reading all of your responses, I think I will tie it up, beat it, put it on fire, chop it into little pieces and bury it somewhere noone will ever find it.

I am j/k, of course, for those among us that have a little trouble with the term "sarcastic".
