Well my birthday has come so I've got my cash. I found what to seems like a great mobo/cpu combo Here . It supports agp 8x and 4x of course, but i'm getting mixed opinions on which graphics card I should purchase. I'm stuck between the FX 5600 , the TI4600 , and the TI4800 (all those links go to the ebay page I found them on). Every review site I go to has differant opnions on them but I want to ask you guys cuase you guys are so smart So what should I get eh ?

Hmmm , I found some benchmarks comparing the TI4600 , ATI 9500 Pro , ATI 9600 Pro , and the Geforce FX 5600 ultra. In all the tests the TI4600 clearly is aove in all of them. I'm now leaning towards the agp 8x version of the ti4600. But if its not DX9 ready what does that mean? Will I not be able to play a dx9 game at all or will i just get lower performance?

If you are going to get a 5600 get the new 5600 flip chip version it runs at 400 mhz core and 800 mhz memory, my FX 5600 can be oveclocked to around 400 mhz core but you need one with a good cooler for that (aka Thermaltake giant 2 heatpipe cooler)

you can find the flip chip version pretty much anywhere. just look at the speeds
i bought the 9800 non pro and let me tell you, it was a GREAT deal. i flashed the bios to a PRO bios and ive even overclocked it passed pro speeds with no problems. Ive read alot of places that the only difference between the 9800 non pro and pro are speed. my computer recognizes mine as a pro now, and i couldnt be happier with the results |
