Vehicle damage

While looking at all those purdy new pictures, I wasn't able to determine how you tell if your vehicle is damaged. Could someone please tell me?

I saw a screenshot somewhere of a toop transporter truck (forget what it is called) with lots of bullet holes in the side. SO i am guessing the vehicle models will show damage.

I'm wondering how the person in the vehicle will tell I couldn't see any bar or anything

Looks like this:
"Your harraser has been hit for 10 armor points by stryker"
or something like that.

Also you have health and armor bars, they'll decrease when you're hit.

If I am not mistaken it will also show on the overhead view what part of your vehicle is taking damage.

If your on fire and decending rapidly toward the ground at high speeds its a good bet that your damaged. (and that your going to die)
