I wonder if when a vehicle is destroyed will it still be there for a while dead in its tracks on fire or something so others can come along and use to there advantage to go behind to protect you from enemy gun fire. IT would be really cool if you could do this...

Hamma would know, but I'm gonna field a guess that they are going to stick around for a few minutes and do the infamous fade away. Or they might remain until no one is directly around them...hmmm.....made myself think.

I would assume that they would fade out quickly simply so the computer doesn't have to process something like that. It would be cool if they stuck around though. Hopefully in about 10 yrs we'll have an MMOFPS where the vehicles & the dead bodies don't disappear! Now that would be sweet...er, hope they don't have smell-o-matics on computers by that time.

i don't remember who said it, but it's like a theorum or something that a guy figured that computers double in speed/memory/etc. every 18 months, but the last couple years have been a little quicker than that.
so, i would guess that in definatly 10 years you'd have the bodies and such, as well as deformable terrain and all the other things on your'alls wish list (rag doll physics for instance), and probably something that hasn't been thought up yet Last edited by Zhor_Prime; 2003-01-17 at 11:10 PM. |

A burnt out shell of a vehicle hull would be imperitive i youd just attacked a vehicle squad.
You'd need cover from the rest of them whislt u either try to take out another vehicle or perhaps make ur peace with god :/

I was thinking, it's probably like bf1942, the shells of tanks stay around for a while, long enough that when they're gone you didn't notice they disappeared.

As long as it isn't like WWIIO, then everything will be peachy.
For those who don't know how that works. Apparently, as long as the guy inside who died, doesn't respawn, the tank corpse doesn't decay. Blow up a tank on a bridge, and if the guy isn't in a hurry, you cant pass. And no, ya couldn't push them out of the way.

Here's a tad more info on explostions from rougue13:
http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/p...ML/001578.html He didn't say specifically whether dead vehicles remain behind or not. I would assume so... |
