If you REALLLLLLY know what your doing and buy some ramsinks and a vid card cooler for a good price, you could probably build it for under $175 and overclock it yourself.

Edit: They have some really nice OCed PC's there though...for good prices 2.

Go for it, Personally I was never a big fan of OCing, but as you know I had the 9500 pro and the 9600 are just as good if not better so its up to you.

Misc Info

i would say buy your own 9600 pro and put on the heatsinks and stuff, its realy not very hard to do, i put a new HS on mine(see the specs thread), didn't get any ram cooling though. My Hs cost $30, but its about the best air cooled one you can get. And the 9600 pro is already a nice card so i would buy a regular card and see how you like it, oc it a little, and if you find its to your liking upgrade the cooling some.

i personally would let OCsystems do it because honestly thats all they do is overclock stuff and they have certain tweaks.

NO!

I just got a 9600 PRO 256 Meg card for $70 brand new at Bestbuy. I then picked up a heatpipe at Fry's for $30. Installed both, installed the Omega drivers, oc'd that bitch over 100hz. She's running about 50C and stable as if it wasn't oc'd.

The 9600's run exceptionally cool so they take very well to oc'ing. Especially with additional cooling and a heatpipe.

He didn't get a pro, he got a np or se.

I wouldn't suggest this purchase. OCsystems doesn't have the best feedback, and I've heard bad stories of them taking long times to ship. Thats not all that great of an OC... and the cooling doesn't look that special. Much better off spending $200 on a 9800NP.

Not a fan of OCing myself, for the difference in frame rate I'm not really that bothered. Nice point about the Omega drivers though, I use them and they seem better than the 'official' ones

AH Black Friday... cool, best deal I could find on it was for $90. But I hate dealing with rebates.
