Im confused about this.
I had planned on buying the ATI 9600xt. Then I find this card: http://www.bigfootcomputers.com/Merc...egory_Code=950 Whats the difference between the ATI xt and the ASUS xt? Which one is better? I have an ASUS P4P 800 MoBo. Will that increase the performance of the ASUS xt card? Keep in mind the price is Canadian. Both cards are 300 dollars here.

realy there is no true diffence, the ATI comforms to the minimum specs tough, the asus might have faster memory so that would give it a minute edge. Also its cooling may be better but i don't know. I would get the Asus, because its orange and made by asus

asus just buys the card from ATI or the GPU or whatever around that. Then they might use different board or different memory. As long as it meets certain specifacations. Its a ATI chipset and might be manufactured by ATI.

while we're on our 3rd or 4th thread like this lets just jsut say once and for all that all video cards are made to at least an ATI base specs.
All cards should perform within +/- 5 fps, the memory and GPU will be clocked the same unless other wise noted. different manufacuters might add different cooling, use different PCB boards or put the components on the card in different places. They might give you different features (and prices!) but all cards will perform about the same!! HOWEVER some companies cards are better at Overclocking than others... but thats up to the individual user what "extras" he wants.. but again a card is a card is a card... |
