I know we had a post not long ago about people's longest run without dying, so now I'm getting more specific. I had a magical run last night in a high combat area where I went 45 minutes without dying and killed 30+ people (I'm really not sure how many it was). It started with ACEs and consisted of nothing but Spitfires, my knife and eventually a looted Scatter pistol (which is absolutely vicious if you're getting good FPS and have surge). The end of the run came when a sniper heard my surge implant before I'd begun attacking and got the jump on me, but at least I fell to a good man in Jaged.
So let's hear it, cloakers. What kind of long term survival have you enjoyed? That single run last night so eclipses my previous best run (assuming a good amount of combat happening around you) that I'm curious to see what others have done. |

Mine would be about an hour, didn't get that many kills, but it sure was funny when I hid behind a guy with DL and he didn't go into third person. Hacked the base, then Hightailed it out of there, I came to an end when a prowler gunner switched darklight on and caught me trying to steal a parked lode.

I've lasted about 45 minutes before.
There was one time when I got trapped just outside the CC of a base the TR had just hacked. I was hiding in the corner and about 12 TR came into the room and camped out while the hack went through. Pounders were all locked down and one guy came over and crouched down right in front of me, which is probably what saved me, because most of them were using darklight and he blocked their view of me. I sat there the whole 15 minutes praying they wouldn't see me. The problem was I had armed a plasma grenade just before everyone came into the room. After about 5 minutes of holding down the mouse button I figured I'd had enough, so I stood up behind the guy crouching in front of me and threw the grenade as far as I could across the room and crouched back down behind the guy. It landed smack dead on top of some guys head and he just stared around trying to figure out who threw it. I was laughing my ass off. When the hack went through everyone cleared out and I slipped out of the base with nobody the wiser. Last edited by gonnagetyou; 2004-01-10 at 01:59 AM. |

long long ago when my and my buddy were playing we were both adv meds/infiltrators/adv hacks with lightning certs. Longest run we ever had without respawning (not w/o dying) was about 4 1/2 hours.
by myself on a good day, maybe 30-40 minutes, but because of my comp i can only manage maybe 10-15 kills in that time from tops with boomers killing multi-manned vehicles.

~30 minutes. I didn't get many kills (I was reluctant to give away my position), but I hacked the same base 3x.
After sneaking in and hacking it, I hid behind a pile of crates as a dozen or so nme came in to secure the area. After they left, I went and hacked it again, ran behind the pile of crates, waited while they resecured it and left, then hacked it agin, ran and hid behind a pile of crates . . . Then the cavalry arived and my empire secured the base |
