Actually, it might be sometime this year according to gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/thief3/index.html). But I could of sworn a magazine article I read said sometime in February.
Edit: I know it is technically still January, but tomorrow is Feb. |

It was originally going to have the "body awareness system"... if you picked a lock, you'd see your hands fumbling with the lockpicks, and have to actually pick it based on your hand's positioning.
Why would they make it 3rd person? One of the huge draws of the original two was that you were *right there*. You held your breath when a guard walked by with his sword drawn, you felt the tension as you jumped from Rope arrow to rope arrow. You bit your lip as the guard walked by and you nicked the key off his beltloop. 3rd person removes you from that connection with the gameplay, if you ask me.
