You know what? I actually had alot of fun in the caverns on Friday night.
There was about 12 NC and about 12 VS. The cavern was split 50/50. There was alot of close combat, you know the kind that makes you jump. Man I was dancing with guys and getting the adrenalin pumping. Some of the fights were great, and I actually cheered at my PC when I'd win. Or, I'd send a compliment in the /t. I had a good sniper war at one point. Loads of fun there. Did you guys ever listen to voice macros with EAX3 and a 5.1 system? The voices echo around in the caverns, the effect is really cool. Rifle reports echo as well. I think I am going to hang out down there a little more frequent now. Squad verse squad fights rock in the caverns. I highly recommend you all try it. |

Dogfighting through ziplines, and dodging around rocky outcroppings is by far the most intense combat I've ever had in Planetside. I've also had some fun playing with the Dog Soldiers down there, they use CE and sniper rifles to great effect. I stumbled across a "hard point" they had set up in a central building way up on the cavern roof. I popped into the area on a zipline and was surprised to find 2 snipers and a whack of deployables defending them. They could see in all directions and out to the edges of the cavern, with motion sensors, spitfires and mines to protect them from surprise attack.
