I need a recommendation.

Im a relatively experienced gamer in both FPS and RTS genre's. For the longest time I have shied away from anything with the letters RPG in its description. However, I recently played KOTOR and combined with the rpg element of this game, Im interested to see what the whole RPG thing is like. I know that KOTOR is not really a true RPG, the story is too linear, I was thinking of trying an MMORPG. And I want your recommendation as to what I should try. I would like to try galaxies, but have gotten negative comments about it, especially for an rpg virgin. I just want to see what games you guys would suggest, as I have no experience what so ever into this genre.

Thanks in advance

Hmmm MMORPG, can't reccommend any to you there. But there was some new RTS game that came from SSS. The same guys that did Empire Earth.

Dark Age of Camelot looks pretty cool, I have yet to try it though. I've had the trial sitting on my computer for about a week, just need to install it.

MMORPG's are pretty borring unless you get into the level Tread mill, and meet up with some nice folk online.

If you are a true RPG Newbie then I'd suggest the Morrowind box (they got one now with the orriginal and both expansions.) That's one of the truest PRg's ever made! and it's great fun!

That's just my Suggestion!

You should wait for Middle Earth Online, World of Warcraft, orThe Matrix Online.

Square Enix botched Final Fantasy XI so don't bother with it.

Dark Age of Camelot can be fun if you get in with the right group of people. It's similar to PS in that there are 3 rival realms: britons, norse, and celts. You level up on monsters in your home country, and if you get powerful enough you can go out and RvR (realm vs. realm) in designated areas. There's 5 separate leveling systems in the game, so it will keep you busy if you don't mind treadmilling. I only recommend trying this game if you already know somebody who's a pro and can mentor you through the high learning curve.

The Matrix Online looks great, I might get it.

If you don't mind older, isometric graphics, Ultima Online is a very fun game. It has a very dedicated and well-founded community of players, and they regularly have quests and such. I played it for years and still do occasionally.

I've also head good things about Dark Age of Camelot and to a lesser extent, the new Final Fantasy MMORPG.

What I wouldn't recommend is Galaxies and Anarchy Online. Both look enticing, but their complexity and poor gameplay was a turn-off for me.

well I got the camelot trial d/l'ed last night, im gonna see if my head doesnt explode playin it for a while. By the looks of it matrix and middle earth ones look intense and will probably be on my list to buy, provided pc gamer and x-play give them good reviews.

as for a. I played the damn game 6 different times at 2 difficulty levels completing every little mother-fcking side quest each time. the thing of linear means that the story ends in one of 2 wasy no matter how you do it. My comparison was based on open ended mmorpgs where there is no particular ending, just a never ending role play, like in PS where there is no end.

as for b. Ill try and find ya if I can, ill prolly just drop my jaw at all the elements of it and run screaming, but ill have to see lol.
