this is in reference to "dropped dead guys gun" post. if you are able to pick up a dead guys gun from another empire, we all know you have to have a cert in the weapon. but if you have a cert in a weapon of your own empire that is similar to the other empires (i.e. assault rifle) can you use it then or does it actually have to be that exact weapon?

Nope, all pistols from all empires and the supresser are the basic group, everyone can use them. Then there is the rifles and shotgun group, the explosives and rockets, and the special weapons like lancer/minigun/jackhammer.

It assault, meduim assault, and heavy assault certs I beleive. If you have the medium assault cert, you can use any factions medium assault weapon (if you find one).
