Well, first off let me appologize for not being around. I've been in Beverly Hills for the past week, and otherwise busy with School. .
Anyways, on with the thread. So, just 2 days after the Skyrocker aircraft lawndarted and the pilot was killed (R.I.P.), i decided to head out to the 2004 Miramar Air Show. It was overcast as hell, and there were patches of rain throughout the show, but aside from the poo weather the show was awesome. I've been coming ever since i was 3, and i havent missed a show since. Not a single show. There are pics below, taken with my Canon Powershot A80. I will answer any questions you have, but the captions should tell you all you need to know. Enjoy the pics + vids. North entrance to MCAS Miramar. Miramar PD doing traffic control. Blue Angels on the flightline! MAGTF Demonstration (Marine Air/Ground Task Force) (The F/A 18's and AV8B Harrier's were grounded because of the low cloud layer. fuck.) Huey drops insertion team onto Tarmac. Insertion Team engages ground forces with M203 Grenades Cobra's swoop in over show center and provide air support to the Insertion Team |

Howitzer is anchored to helo Insertion Team sets up a perimeter and calls for an airstrike from the Cobra's The results of a strafing run from the Cobra's Machinegun fire from the Cobra's Cobra, so sexy! After having strafed the fuck out of show center, the Cobra's settle into a hover Remember that howitzer? It's set down in a safe zone so it can start raining ordinance down on the target In position Seaknights unload the cavalry. Camp Pendleton's finest secure the perimeter In less than a minute, the Seaknights are out of there. |

Awesome pics. My dad was stationed in Camp Pendleton when he was a marine, he has never been in a CH46 (SeaKnight), but he did ride in a CH53 alot (the one you see in DC).
How crowded is your airshow btw? the airshow (Ft. Lauderdale Air and Sea show) down here has about a million people, soo crowded. |
