The following is a quote from the main forms

No. We reserve the right to redefine "regularly" at will.
Approximately weekly, however.
------------------------------------------

So, if they add people every week, then I wonder how long it will be till the open beta? hmmmm....

So if its 50 this week.... and like 100 more next... then 500 then 1000.... then 4 weeks till the open.... ?????

As i said, I am reading way to much into that line, but I can hope!!!

I am guessing 4-6 weeks till external beta, w/ an 80% chance of accuracy.

Well I have done quite a few betas (about a dozen, mainly MMORPGs w/ some Online FPS), so I have a fairly good grounding on how long things should generally last. Also keep in mind them saying that all features are completed is a VERY good thing. That means the beta will not have ANY additions of content, but rather adjustments for balance, and bug fixes. That alone cuts down most betas, and lowers the sense of urgency. Also, keep in mind they are STILL pushing for Q1 release date, so they want to go gold ASAP.

Also I have the stars behind me, the moon in the corect alignment with Mercury, and I am a damn Omnipotent Kiwi. Fear the Kiwi!

Going by experience its likely they will quickly add lots of people... small to start but getting exponentially bigger.

But thats only going on past betas - they may do it diff. Lets hope not!

I imagen they want to have a small number of people whit varies systems for week to test compatibility and login/connection issues before quickly adding alott of people fast. Really isn't a reason to keep the number low for long imo.

If you read SJ's posts, he says that he will only add 50 people the first week. But if you look further back, he says hes had more then that from just the devs and people at SOE. I think the first 50 are just to check connections, get the game out to a few people to spread the word (AND THE SCREENSHOTS FOR ALL YOU WHO GET IN). After the first week we will probally double every week until about 4000 people, then open beta for stress testing all the servers. I think we are looking at PS release mid to late march.

kinda a cheap question but what are some things i should say on the beta application. Ive applied for the SwG beta a bunch of times and denied... I really REALLY wanna play the PS beta but I dont think I will have a god resume so to speak. I've only done one other beta and it was EaB. And the comment about the game coming out in mid to late march i REALLY hope the is true.

I can guarantee the last phase of beta will be totally random. They won't want to sort through all the applications.
