Turrets TTL


SO I searched and I searched....


Question here... Engineer puts down turret, wanders off and does other things... Has it been answered how long that turret will sit there before going away... is it forever untill destroyed, or untill the user logs out?

Also is there a limit to the number of things an engineer can deploy... if resupplied could an engineer lay down 50 turrets in a ring with 200 mines in front of them and a perimeter of motion sensors... well you get the point... is there a limit to what an engineer can make (volume wise)

Don't know if this's been addressed yet. So if any of you mighty knowers of crap know this...

Q1: They are there until destroyed

Q2: No anouncment on a maximum amount of ACEs that can be deployed, they will determine this in beta.

There is a definite limit to the number of turrets an engineer can deploy; at one point I believe the number was 8 per SOI (not 8 per engineer per SOI, 8 per SOI). However, I have no idea as to any limits on mines.

there will be a limit on turrets per SOI. Beta will determine that. Earlier Rogue, a dev, stated that the turrets stay after you log out, but obviously they don't enhance your stats and when you log back in, they are not going to pick up and be your turrets. So they will be like the turrets in Tribes 2, they stick around but go neutral when you log out. As for mines and boomers, nothing has been said about what the limit will be, as far as I know.

Aryeh, where did you.... *cough*... sorry.... get your information from? I read up on engineers and I have never.... *cough*... sorry.... seen this 8 per SOI number before, I just knew they were going to determine in beta the max #.

Saint,

the 8 per SOI was something that was said either by Rogue or smokejumper on the official forums some time ago. I'll look for it and let you know tomorrow in school.

If your turret kills something do you get BEPs. if so would u get them ev en if you were far away fighting?

I believe you get BEP no matter where you are, but your squad mates will not get BEP unless they are close the the kill.

mines i hope will have a limit. i hope they have alot of them but limitless. we don't need one person mining an entire base so that another empire can't cross into the base.

Mines have a limit, and must be placed a certain distance apart.

what happens to the turret when the facility that provides the SOI changes posession? do the turrets change sides as well, or are they just disabled? i don't believe this is answered yet.
