squad leaders should have rts micro tools at their disposal for coordinating their squad. the following would occur within whatever command interface there is for squad leaders, ideally, on a map. waypoints must be represented on the field somehow through squad members' huds.
waypoints waypoints are visible only to squad members squad leaders can place multiple waypoints squad leaders can remove all waypoints squad leaders can remove waypoints arbitrarily squad leaders can remove control group waypoints squad leaders can add captions to waypoints squad leaders can edit or remove waypoint captions squad leaders can place waypoints visible to a user defined set of squad members and not visible to others (sub group waypoints) squad leaders can place sub group waypoints by plotting waypoints while having squad members selected. control groups squad leaders can select a squadmember(s) and then assign them to a control group number. squad leaders can press the control group number to select the squad members of the control group assigned to that number |

Have you considered waypoints with different functions and colours, for example the blue Squad Experience waypoint and the green Home Base waypoint in PS1, or setting up arrays/paths of waypoints in alternate ways?
Like creating a difference between objective and mission waypoints and a path waypoint. Path waypoints could for instance be connected and may disappear for those squad members that passed through them. |
