Just a thought, assuming it's not in already or planned. I know people are vehemently against quick-knifing, and frankly I agree.
But I would find it very strange if a MAX was unable to crush puny humans with it's hand/lobster claws as they circle strafed around it in close proximity. Thus my suggestion: MAX crush. At the range of a few feet the MAX can sweep one of it's massive arms in a blow that will do massive damage to infantry and even some modest damage/disruption to vehicles. Maybe later on, it could actually have a little animation where the Max grabs a person and slams them to the ground/crushes them in it's grip/shoots it with the other weapon/etc. |

how could a VS max pic someone up with no hands?
Secondly, I said this before in a very similar thread. With faster TTK and the powerful weapons on a MAX when will an infantry ever be that close to you. You should have shot them long before that point. your not going to able to survive in front of a MAX in the open much less 5 feet away you'll be dead way to quick.the only time someone will get close is from behind and this ability wont even work when people are behind you anyways. |

It's power armor, I don't think you should be able to melee in it , you have the strength, but you just don't have the reflexes or the speed.
I like the idea of MAX charging into someone for damage, cause it's so easy to sidestep if you see it coming, but as for the rest, you already have flamethrowers. |

Shoulder-Slam for maxes, they have so much mass it would deliver the desired effect. It would also be far easier to code/animate. Another possible solution might be certification/attachment to MAX weapons ala Gears of War.
With the new infiltrator stealth this could be a real threat for maxes separated from a group. Something should be done to mitigate that, unless this is an intended achilles heel of the max they want to leave in. Last edited by PlaceboCyanide; 2012-06-02 at 11:26 AM. |

You can still circle strafe a MAX, but you just have to stay behind or to the side of it. But being caught dead in front of a MAX should be as much a death sentence as being in front of a tank or aircraft barreling down in your direction.

Oooh, the melee Max! One chainsaw and one lobster claw covered with smaller chainsaws!
On a more serious note, I think that this would need to be an ability requiring the Max to pause or 'dig-in' before initiating, in order to give infantry a small chance to jump out of the way. Of course, in a crowded corridor, there might be no escape! |

Not to mention headshots are supposed to deal significant damage, which is another thing any self respecting infil-sniper should excel at.
If it effectively sends someone flying back all discombobulated (Confused due to screen shake) then that's fine. But if it just shunts them a few feet away...not so impressive. |
