Engineer idea frokm Mount & Blade


I know this idea most likely wouldn't work with the game but i thought i'd put it out there...

In the Napolean Mod the engineer class could build destructible barries e.g. fences, sand bags & steaks etc. So dya think this could work with PS2 - e.g. what if you and ur outfit run into another squad of soldiers in open terrain? Wouldn't it be helpful to build some defences?

They can already build turrets which I believe have a shield on the front. I don't think sandbags and things would be very effect considering how many aircraft and explosives there will be compared to the Napoleon mod which had none.

In addition, erecting deployable cover structures of some sort has already been stated as something that the engineer is likely to have by the devs.

Would be cool to get 100 engineers together and stack some walls/fences/sandbags as a makeshift fort.

But I'd wager their will be some sort of certs and customization for the deployable turret to add a wider shield or something, so you could string together a bunch and have a wall of turrets instead.

From what I've seen of the vehicle collision damage at E3, tanks would probably explode if they ran into some wooden stakes.

That's because they use reactive armor; they just installed all of it facing the wrong way

It would be nice since default shield of the turret was obviusly underpowered and didnt cover a lot of area.

well they are supposed to stop cavalry, wether that's armoured or not is a minor detail

it seemed to work nicely in the stuff that we saw at E3, if one placed it right ofcourse: can't expect to put it out in the open and survive

We'll see during the beta

(PS wasn't there something in some screencap from the cert-engi-screen about shields?)
