Gameplay: Music loadout selection - Customize background music (from in game choices)

After listening to some of those wonderful leaked alpha sound bits, I had a thought.

All the new music is powerful and combat intensive, but all the old music was much more sci fi mysterious, and for lack of a better word "lovely". Both sound styles are the same music, but on opposite sides. So I thought of this, seeing as UI is customizable.

Allow for a player to go into a customization menu and change which remixes of certain tracks he can hear and save loadouts.


Now, I'm a firm believer of keeping the game more or less as is, so I'm really not suggesting things like changing your NC combat to a TR combat cause you like it more, but that is a very distinct possibility with this idea, depends what everyone wants. Maybe even importing your own music for yourself.

Basically, for those still a little confused on what I'm suggesting - We allow the player to save which music is played. NC Combat from original PS, or NC combat 2 from PS2, or some other new NC combat remix.

Combat music is more a randomly chosen thing, so allow for you to make your own playlist for it to choose from. So you might not like VS combat 3 or something, so all you do is take it, you won't have to hear it. This allows us to have the music we think makes us play better, and I doubt such a thing would take too much work to add into the game.

This idea will allow old vets and even new players, to experience the music of PS1 with PS2, and change it back at any time, or add in extra music for combat from PS1 so they can have PS1 and PS2 music. All in all, the biggest reason for me suggesting this idea: I just wanna hear as much Planetside as I can, the game and music have imprinted on me, and like all other vets, I can't get it out of my head.

There's another thread somewhere floating the idea of micro-transactions for macros, music, action-sounds (shooting, engines running, etc...); not really related but thought you might find it cool.
