Lots of info here live:
http://live.theverge.com/microsoft-l...-announcement/ 1.5 lbs, same thickness as ipad 3, the cover is a f'ing keyboard. Genius! According to the live stream they have full Windows 8 on it looks like you could indeed play PS2 on it, though no idea whether the hardware requirements can cover it. Holy crap, if I'm reading that right one version works EXACTLY like a PC. You could play Planetside 2 from a tablet. If that works... holy crap.
EDIT: Yeah, probably not. I can dream. Last edited by TheInferno; 2012-06-18 at 08:00 PM. |

Still, Windows 8 would mean the game could in theory run on that thing right there. I do kind of doubt that it has the necessary graphics muscle for that though... |

I don't think you get what that thing runs on...The software is Windows 8. As in, the full, normal Windows. The same Windows that will be running the new gaming rigs we make next year to play PS2. If you make apps for the Surface, you make apps for Windows 8. And you can make Windows 8 apps out of HTML and JavaScript.
Language - You want to code in HTML5/JavaScript, C#, VB, or C++? |

I'll have one on Day 0, but seeing as its a tablet, I'd prefer to do other planetsidey-things on it, thus the need for the app. I'll of course have the same app on my gaming rig too, because why not?

But for just about everything else, yeah sign me up for a Pro version running intel processor that can run every piece of software in the Windows ecosystem along with new Win8 apps. In a nice tablet form that has a compact keyboard that can be a general purpose carry-with-you PC. |

If they made an android tablet version of the PS2 app, I can't imagine them not making a Surface version since it also runs on Windows 8, which is what the PCs next year and the years after will be shipping with. You could use the app with your gaming PC, or this new MS Tablet.
