Didn't find it anywhere here...
I'm not putting in the translations of the questions, because they're all easy to figure out by the answer. (Though I can, if you want) There's nothing really new, though. The only "new" part is about BFRs, but it's not new, because it all was dicussed quite a few times already. |

TRay and Higby are both awesome people to interview. Higby is all crazy enthusiastic, charming and also informative, while TRay is very clear, honest and a very "down-to-earth" kind of guy. Be it either by tag-teaming or on the side doing their own thing, they are both delivering every single time! As of the interview itself, not bad at all. While we rarely hear anything extremely new and fresh at this point it's still a very interesting experience nonetheless. |

The VS guy who even the NC have a hard time hating.
We're getting so much new info from E3 and dev tweets and shit, that not getting much new info from interviews isn't bothering me at all. It's just good press for the game and will expose more and more people to PS2. Glad to see the coverage keep piling up. |

Sounds like TRay is interested in a BFR revival some day post-launch. SOE please don't go there. Add something new instead, like heavy battle tanks, outfit bases, or naval combat even. BFRs are a failure that simply can't be operated upon.

This. T-ray: Do not open that old wound. Leave those hulking pieces of trash in the garbage where they are.

That said, what function, or niche, in a futuristic game does a "heavy tank" fill, that a mech, with similar power level, not fill? Again... this is a genuine attempt to understand this point of view, because I admittedly do not "get it"... To me a properly implemented "mech" fits right in just as well as a "heavy tank" in a futuristic game. To be clear, I am not referencing BFRs, I did not like that implementation, so I "get it" on that subject, but to me a BFR does not a Mech make... Can anyone help me understand this point of view?

"WAH WAH, the first time they tried BFR's didn't work so they can never work." They fucked up the original idea, but they fixed it. It's not some solo mass murder machine anymore, no more than a tank is.
Even if it had the same damn stats? Last edited by Shade Millith; 2012-06-21 at 02:09 AM. |

A "BFR" is a more powerful tank plain and simple. Whether or not its bipedal, on treads, hovering, four legs, stilts. It's just a bigger tank.
The only real argument you could make is against the inclusion of super powerful one or two man vehicles. Or you could argue that mechs don't fit in the universe. To say no BFRs is just the name really they could call them something different or whatever. I just think the most important things is if they try it again it has to require more players to operate.

The Vanguard can be customized to be Air-to-Air? They're giving the NC flying tanks?
<3 you T-Ray

I think they learned enough wrt what not to do with BFRs that we shouldn't really worry too much about having them implemented in PS2 in the future.

i'd like to see them not rehash bfrs and go a different route making more empire specific vehicles/weapons to keep things interesting. if anything they can roll out new continents with new vehicles and expansions after sort of beta testing all that stuff before rolling it out. they got the core stuff down pretty solid so far and kept the best of the original they just need to expand upon the stuff that was popular and add some new stuff on smaller than bfr scale. i would definitely recommend bringing back the loadstar eventually it was a very handy vehicle for tanks who knew how to take advantage of them. new air vehicles eventually would be very cool too imo.
