I know I haven't been around long in this community, but I actually feel so much better since I joined these forums...
Y'all don't argue like children, and put down the other people for being "noobs", which calling their mother something. I feel PS2 is gonna have a great community when it starts up, and that it is gonna be a trendsetter for others. What do y'all think? |

I think the PSU community is pretty good. And I also think the site admins have a lot to do with that. Is there an existing poll asking which community they think has the best community? That would be a cool poll to see I think.

It's the second best I've seen right after Spiral Knights. That game wasn't the best but the community were saints.
...Quick question, what's the worse community you've ever stumbled upon? Be creative and don't churn out CoD answers. Mine: Global Agenda. The forums were ok, but the ingame community were the abosolute worse I've ever seen. Not helpful in anyway and always thinking that the problem is everyone else's fault. |

OMG, OP is a lame-o noob and his mother is fat.
Parts of this community, including myself, are nearly a decade old now. I started posting on these forums back in 2003 with the launch of the first PlanetSide. Suffice to say, the community wasn't always as mature as it is now (myself as guilty as the rest) and at times it still can be pretty stupid. Just to give you an idea, I used to have such a hatred for another poster on these forums that we both nearly got banned from a convention we attended with the website staff and PS1 devs (PSUMA in Orlando Florida). During the convention we were kept physically separate to keep us from going at eachother's throats. A year or two later, we finally sorted out our differences. A lot of the original trolls on this forum are gone; banned or just disappeared. Perhaps those that left grew up, or just found somewhere else to be unwanted. I'd like to think the former... 9 years is a long time and a lot of us started out gamer teenagers and now own homes and have kids of our own. I see a lot of new faces on the forums, and for the most part, people are pretty civil. Of course there are some heated debates, but the Mods have been doing a decent job keeping things under control, and the community itself does seem pretty solid. That said, sometimes I feel like arguing with people on PSU is like banging your head against a brick wall; it's painful, accomplishes nothing, and in the end you feel a little dumber for the effort. I think it's mostly due to the age bracket that this game attracted and who still play. After so long you just realize it's easier to click back to the forum list then reply to people who are so obviously wrong or just jerks and just let the thread die. Not always, but it tends to keep the better threads near the top.
