In PS1 there were dedicated pilots who would hunt snipers only... you think that will stop? ontop of that snipers loved to nail other snipers.. I knew of a small outfit that rolled Lightnings so they could move fast behind enemy lines and take out long range campers i.e snipers and I personally used to love hunting down snipers in my stealth outfit creep up behind and slit thier throats (ok ok it was 2 knife thrusts) to finish them off.. Also I know many players who could identify the location of a sniper by the sound of his first shot... situational awareness is everything in PS being prone dosnt help one bit when facing enemies who use more than just thier eyes. So let them go prone it will make my job easier to kill them as it makes it harder from them to manauver away from me (well thats the theory can't wait to see if its still the case in PS2) |

The only thing that will be easier with prone is finding cover. But anything that can shoot at you you can shoot back at. Prone with not make it harder to spot players. At least that is my experience from COD, BF or any other FPS game where you can prone.

Yes I love to look for prone snipers in BF, just by following the sound of the shots.... Very entertaining and it's a nasty surprise when you sneak up on them and cut their throats. Guarenteed to give a sniper player a rush.

My personal preference would be to have prone in the game. There's mucho controversy on it though in past threads.... Here's a couple threads on the subject if you have some time to read:
Prone and lean Planetside 2 Needs Prone |

"I DON'T LIKE IT! IT'S CHEAP! RAWR! IT'S BAD GAMEPLAY! RAWR! I HATE CAMPERS! IT'S CHEESE! RAWR!" No offense to anyone... But seriously. This what 90% of debates end up coming to. Regardless of the subject |

To me, it just makes sense to be able to go prone in a fps game. I was hoping that since PS2 is adapting the more "modern" feel, it would incorporate/give all the movement that comes with it. Anywayzz... closing this can of worms and putting back on shelf.
