Hello there,
I am new to planetside, but ever since i saw first game play video i knew i want to be on those cliffs sniping. But its a lot harder to choose a faction, and i was wondering what are differences among faction snipers. Also will bolt action snipers be unique to NC seeing how they are about using harder hitting but slower firing weapons, and well bolt action is ultimate in that regard. |

-Bolt Action Sniper Rifles -Auto?/Semi Auto Sniper Rifles -Other stuff not related to sniping. Each faction model comes in different statistics and flavours. Let's take examples related to the weapon you surely place more interst in: New Conglomerate BA Sniper Rifle: Top Damage, Worst Bullet Drop, Worst Bullet Clip Size, Worst Reload Time Terran Republic BA Sniper Rifle: Lowest Damage, Best Bullet Drop, Best Bullet Clip Size, Best Reload Time Vanu Sov BA Sniper Rifle: The more far the target, the less the output damage, NO Bullet Drop, Medium Clip Size, Medium Reload. EXTREMELY FAST BULLET-VELOCITY Consider BA rifles have an extreme reach, you will not notice a massive damage drop on Vanu weapons unless you are hitting a target at maximum range. The most easy to use BA SR is the Vanu one, you don't need as much training as others for it. We can summarize: NC: Top Damage suited for heavy targets such MAXes and HA. But also good for everything else it manages to hit. TR: All rounded, it really has low bullet drop and you will keep biting any targets for hours. VS: Better at Counter-Sniping since Infiltrator HPs are low, and you technically need less time to calculate a 0 bullet drop shot compared to a one with it. Plus it's easier to hit moving targets. Remember: Infiltrator is much more then a "Sniper" Everything is subject to changes Media: http://www.planetside-universe.com/s...ad.php?t=45982 Vanu Semi Auto Sniper Rifle Last edited by Noctis; 2012-08-01 at 05:14 PM. |

when it comes to sniping. the NC have it golden.
Moving into an area undetected, setting up shop...then putting hurt down on sweet spots. NC will dominate the long range, no question. TR and VS will be superior in the medium/short range due to the speed of the weapons. If you are a skilled marksmen, then really choose a heavy hitter over speed. Once a guy takes damage, obviously he will evade. but if the damage he receives just blows his guts out then hey.....respawn |

Keep in mind all the guns can be tailored through sidegrades to handle like other empires weaponry. A TR bolt action sniper rifle can have its ROF decreased in exchange for higher damage output like the NC counter-part, BUT it will never do it to as high of a degree as the NC bolt action. And vice-versa.
Or so we've been told. I'll let you know tomorrow depending on NDA. Hopefully Last edited by Minigun; 2012-08-06 at 12:24 AM. |
