Wipe after Closed Beta?

Strangely, I never found anything that said anything about whether the characters made in closed beta will be wiped in the official launch. I might just be that I don't have access to beta forums, but does anyone know what will happen?

I think you can count on a character wipe before launch, assuming they aren't allowing us to buy items from the in-game store with real station cash first.

I would expect to see character wipes fairly often, and at nearly all stages of beta.

Once they start taking our money though, then expect no more wipes. That would make peeps quite angry.

Not if they get a full station cash refund...

They might even like getting funds back to redistribute.

Your money won't 'disappear'

In fact, they'll be counting on some people using the store when they plug it all in so it can be... you know... tested.

I have seen that... yes...

I've also seen it where they stat wipe and refund all spent cash allowing people to completely reevaluate all their purchases and buy new stuff.

Not sure which they'll do... but if they make any overhauls, they'll have to reset (and refund if stores been opened... doubt we'll see any major overhauls but they still may stat reset just so new players aren't so disadvantaged.... or more likely maybe, they'll leave the original servers up but funnel most new traffic into new worlds.)

Typical NDA clauses allows for all kinds of things actually, including availability limited to whenever dafuq they feel like it, sudden cancellations of up time, no guarantees of anything backend being up (and in fact expect things to occasionally be down at best), etc etc.

It's known to have problems, that's why it's not final release

And yah, they can wipe or do w/e they want with stats at will as well.

This is just common sense. Of course they will wipe it. Its a true beta, things constantly change in a true beta.

wipes will happen through out the beta test,and once the game launches,you have to start from step one again

I'm expecting characters to be wiped at every patch until release. Post-release I'm expecting them to be reset periodically but not wiped.

I wouldn't say "at the end" is necessarily true. Throughout, yes, but lots of Betas allow those in the final phase to keep what they have as a token for having played Beta. It's possible that those in the final phase may not be wiped.
