Alpha Member - Won't play for 2 months

I got extended in Afghanistan through the holidays. I purchased the Alpha Squad package early because I was supposed to be home by now. My concern is the XP bonus perk:

A 6 month 10% XP and resource boost implant which stacks with Membership

Does anyone know if this perk begins on the 20th, or does it begin after logging into the game?

It shouldn't work until you actually use it, seeing as it goes in the booster slot.

I would also think that you will have the booster available for all of your characters for as long as you play, I don't see why they would remove it after 6 months although I undertand your reason for questioning this.
As I have always understood it the booster itself lasts for 6 months when used, not the option to use it. I might be wrong of course.

last I heard it was a booster, so it starts ticking when you slot it. If you like I can confirm on wed, when we are all able to get in game.

In the same boat here ... actually in Afghan as well and purchased Alpha squad. The bandwidth is so crappy here I might have to have a friend create my first toon and slot this for me ><

Don't slot it, the timer will start. Plus there is a bug that causes it to disappear when used with trial weapons. Let them fix this first. It was an in game announcement.

Definitely doesn't start until you slot it, tested it on a couple of characters.
