Question Can I run Planetside 2

Hi everybody,

Im very excited to play Planetside 2 and can't wait to start playing. Buy. Before I can play PS2 I obviously need a PC or laptop. I am looking for a decent laptop and found some laptops that fit my budget. I am not a heavy gamer so visuals doesn't matter for me just performance. I am coming from an Intel i3 with Integrated GPU so again I am performance based. I will list the basic specs needed for evaluation. I would love it if some one can give a FPS avg for the 2 laptops if I play at 720p 1366x768 to be exact and lowest possible settings with medium textures.

Laptop 1

Windows 7 64 bit
AMD A6-4400M Dual core 3.0ghz/2.6ghz.
ATI Radeon 7670m 1gb VRAM
6gb 1600mhz ram
750gb 5400 rpm

Laptop 2

Windows 7 64 bit
AMD A10-4600M Quad Core 3.2ghz/2.3 GHZ
ATI Radeon 7730m 2gb
8gb 1600mhz ram
1tb 5400 rpm

Thanks

You can find the system requirements here:

In short.. probably but it won't run that great.

L1: 15 - 25 FPS Average 1 - 3 FPS in Big Fights

L2: 30 - 50 FPS Average 10 - 15 FPS in Big Fights

The Game hits superheavy on CPU

Download Throttlestop and clean up the fans on your laptops, I have a weaker GPU and CPU than you yet still run it at a stable 30 FPS, even in big fights, at medium settings (and I'm GPU bound, since my GPU is a 6630m). Just watch out for overheating, it may take some time for you to adjust everything for optimal performance and visuals.

I am using win7 64bit
4gb DDR 2-800 RAM
Intel Duo Core (not duo core 2) 2.0GHZ CPU overclocked to 3.8ghz
ATI Radeon 4800 series (cant remember exactly which) with 512mb or 1gb of ram (I think 1gb).

After some .ini tweaks (removing shadows, turning down textures - sand is sand, snow is snow, why bother with detail..) I am running at all times above 30 fps. Big battles, small battles, always at 30+ fps with bottleneck being my CPU according to the FPS monitor.

You should do fine tbh. 3 FPS in big battles is way off...

Would recommend you tweak the .ini to remove shadows though. Biggest boost and totally unnecessary (you still get shadows from aircraft flying overhead though).
