Well first off, the A6 is a rather low end processor, running at a stock speed of 2.6Ghz, and the HD6570 also is not intended as a gaming GPU, infact being one of the bottom two cards in the 6000 series (its not even advertised for gaming, but rather for home office use). Simply put as far as AMD GPUs are, you really need at least X8XX model card for good performance at that card's level. (for instance, a 6850).

Dude, I got a AMD 5870 from 2-3 years ago and I can run the game at maximum settings with 40+ fps.
The bottleneck is always my CPU, that I over clocked from 2,66 to 4,2. Without CPU overlock I could run battlefield 3 in high (not very high) with 60+ fps. BF 3 got much better grafics them PS 2, but because of the scale of combats, PS 2 needs much more CPU them BF 3, and the decelopers or anyone in the community didn't figure out how to decrease the CPU usage or to make the game use better all the available cores, I see people with 8 cores running the game a lot worst them me with 4. Also AMD CPU are bad to overlock, so AMD Processor really doesn't run well with PS 2. Maybe using your videocard to run the physics could solve the problem, but that's only compatible with nvidia cards, and maybe that's the problem, using nvidia physics in a game of that scale! It doesn't consume too much CPU power in games like mass effect 2 or payday the heist because those game got small areas with a few physics elements, but in PS 2 every plane, every rocket, every grenade, every debris from vehicles that can kill players, uses yours CPU and the server CPU, I really think that most problems from GU 04 is server related, somehow the load on the servers was increased on that patch, and now, they can't handle the game as they used to do and everyone call fell that, specially in Indar. |

Dude, bf3 got much better grafics them planetside 2 and even being a port, still runs fine in most computers.
The point is, EA ruined all games, but they have big crews, BF 3, is a bad games, but it run fine and got great performance to the grafics it has. Just look ate those scopes shinning from a distance, players getting blind from flashlight, laser sights reflecting on glass, that doesn't even exist in planetside. Planetside crew is small and they waste lots of time trying to fix something the last patch broke and they got no idea of what broke it and they must deliver new items to the store so the game can profit! I really hate free to play games, because everyone know that they are more expensive them to play them the pay in advance ones. Planetside 2 is the only f2p game to me because I love planetside... |

Guys if you are still having Performance issues after the hotfix. Do the following and it fixed my problem.
Right click on your PS2 Ext. Click Open File Location Look for UserOptions.ini Delete it. Open the Luanchpad. Click the Spanner Icon Click Validiate game files Log into game on the character screen. Change to your desired graphics settings. Log off. And log back into game.

I think everyone already did that, the best solution is still don´t play on indar.
Frostbite 2 A demonstration of quasi-realtime radiosity from the Frostbite 2 engine. The next generation of Frostbite debuted in 2011 with Battlefield 3. It takes full advantage of the DirectX 11 API and 64-bit processors,[10] with no support for DirectX 9 (nor, therefore, Windows XP).[11] It also features enhanced in-game destruction with Destruction 3.0[citation needed], creating more refined physics than its predecessor and quasi-realtime radiosity using Geomerics' Enlighten technology. Additionally an important distinction on its naming is that Frostbite 2 is not called Frostbite 2.0.[12] DICE has given several presentations on advances in their rendering technology with primary focus on the aspects of Animation, Destruction, Scale, Rendering, and Audio. And planetside 2 is still DX-9, 32 bits, using nvidia exclusive physics. REAL BAD DEVELOPMENT DECISION |

I am closing this as I made a Official Thread to address performance issues, so the devs can get better feedback on this.
