If I had to guess, I'd say that the "Rain dripping on your Lenses" effect got put in but isn't quite working...

That weird effect is always visible on my mosquito windshield, tons of 'smudges' in a strange pattern around the upper corners, and I never really understood what it was.

I thought my screen was dirty at first.

Yeah, if I had to guess I'd say it's suppose to be some sort of animated texture overlay that makes it look like water is dripping on your screen.

Dungeons and Dragons Online has a similar effect for it's otherwise inconsequential weather system.

I was playing engineer the other night and was looking up at an enemy ESF... I had the same experience for a couple of seconds. I could not replicate it again during the session.

This happened to me as well on Esamir, I thought it was a heat issue though my GPU/CPU seemed to be within safe parameters but I wasn't going to take any chances, so i exited and shut down immediately.
