And I thought it was going to take a while to cert out my MAX. Having a maxed out medic gun works wonders for farm but this is going to be fun once I get the certs I need to max out the MAX shield and the armor sets.

Because there are that many players playing PS1... SOE lacked the foresight of what would happen if they gave people with PS2 subs free PS1 time..... or because it's a holiday weekend after a major patch and they want people to come check out Indar for live statistics. Which option is more likely?

I got one and I fully intended to try out PS1, but I'm far more interested in testing out the new lattice in PS2. I'm feeling that, whilst it would be interesting to try out PS1, it would be time wasted on a game nearing the end of it's life cycle. PS2 is where the future of PS lies. |

You know that weird lump on Amp Stations, the one with the Tubes leading up to it? In PS1, there is a ROOM up there, I think that's even where the Control Point is... Base interiors are a MAZE built for First Person Shooting; tunnels have nooks in the walls to take cover in and clear thought went into HOW firefights should actually go down within a base. Since almost everything was actually put in with a function in mind and not just there to look impressive, nothing feels like useless clutter! With Dedicated Drivers, trees can be placed THICK ENOUGH to form actual Forests that are somewhat an obstacle to maneuver through let alone FIGHT in. Yeah the graphics wouldn't be out of place on an early nineties game, let alone one from after the turn of the millenium, but it's probably due to the logistical limitations of trying to pull off an MMOFPS of this scale that the Map Developers favored FUNCTION over form... ...Which is something I STRONGLY believe the current design teams need to learn, as there are plenty of examples of things that are only really there to look pretty but rarely serve an actual purpose game play wise. |
