[Looking - Connery] No nonsense outfit

I am not sure this exists, but I am looking for an outfit that IS NOT TRYING TO BE A MILITARY SIM group by people who have not actually been in the military, nor recognize that this is a game.
  • uses team work but allows some degree of individuality. In otherwords, if I dont have a certed Max worth doing anything, then, with permission, allow me to contribute where I am at least effective. Let me be an engineer or even sniper as long as I can stay with the group and contribute toward an objective.
  • uses voice communications
  • allows me to play when I can. No I cant be on 4x a week. If I am on 2x a week that should be good. Sometimes those days are not regular either, maybe a monday and tuesday one week, thursday and friday the next. I am more than happy to post on a forum to tell you what I plan for that week
  • a means of communication outside of the game. I want to know when people are on so I dont log in and find that nobody is on. Use steam, forums, teamspeak, whatever, but a means I can check on my phone and decide whether its worth logging in or not.

Ok enough of my demands. I do know what its like in an "outfit." I ran my own competitive clan for CS, DODS, UT, and TF2. I have competed at a top level (for DODS my clan won open and we went 4-4 in Invite which is not easy for a second year clan). I am a team player and do follow strategies and tactics. I just don't want a clan that stresses ranks as a means of social exclusion rather than team work and strategy.

Try outs / trial periods are not only welcome but preferred.

PS: I would transfer servers/factions if its for a really cool group.

Thanks.

Re: [Looking - Connery] No nonsense outfit

Having seen your post-script about switching empires and factions, and noting that you haven't had much luck on TR Connery, I'm willing to try and sell you on my outfit (Ghosts of the Revolution, VS Mattherson).

-Teamwork, but allows some degree of individuality.

Done deal. We don't tell people what class to play or force you into a role. We let you choose your role. As long as you're contributing, we're happy to have you along.

-Voice communications. Teamspeak 3, for us. Being on TS3 is required while you're in an outfit squad on an outfit op, but not otherwise, and we think that's reasonable.

-We have no time commitments. In fact, in our "Pillars", or our code of conduct, our principle rule is "Real Life Comes First". Nobody will ever give you sh** about missing an op, we're really laid back about that. There's a half-expectation that if you happen to be online during an op, you might want to join in, but it's not a rule - most people join the outfit with that in mind anyway.

-Offline communication. We use a variety of methods to communicate with our members. Our website is our main tool for doing this. We have a calendar we keep up to date with any scheduled ops for your enjoyment, we send out Twitter broadcasts to let people know an op is starting, and we'll even put a big countdown banner up on top of the website to let people know if there's an alert happening and how long until it's over. We have Tapatalk enabled on our forum, if that's of interest to you.

-Lack of Milsim environment. You won't have General Whatshisname on your case if you do something wrong, nor Colonel Somebody, and you aren't Private Newguy. You join as a Zombie (flavor text for Recruit) and you then get promoted to Member. If you like leading squads and prove yourself, we'll give you Captain. If you continue to advance and become an officer, we give you "Officer" (we call it "Command" as well). People don't pull rank on each other, and we're open to suggestions for targets and tactics - we just ask that you not completely shut down our ops leads when they're trying to do their jobs. Feel free to send a /tell, make a post on the forum, or ask on voice later, just not in the heat of an op. We recently went to a great effort to reorganize our ranks to remove all vestiges of military references (except for Captain, which we may still change).

-My only concern is you won't be happy with our time zone. We are very much an East Coast outfit, and while we have a good amount of West Coast members, ops and events are all set around EST - however, they usually will run into West Coast primetime, and we have a dedicated "Late Night Crew" that has a squad or two up during the times you've said you play.

If you have any questions PM me, reply here, or send an email to [email protected]

I'd be glad to get you on TS3 with us so you can test us out, if you wish.

I hope your hunt for an outfit improves, good luck.

As you said, the timezone may be an issue. I generally dont login until around 10-11pm EST so my involvement in "ops" / "raids" etc. may not work out. If it does, then the rest seems good. I have no problem creating a new character or playing on Matherson (I am in Utah but my ping to east coast servers is decent), but since I main character is TR I am coming over with a completely clean slate character.

That won't be an issue, don't worry
