IDK but Ashvale looks a lot like Indar. Could it be that Norrath is really just ancient Auraxis, and the inhabitants of Norrath are really the Vanu?

I would be immensely amused if SOE makes out some canonical link between Everquest and PlanetSide.

Sweet Vanu that would be a funny lore piece to behold. Even just some more Easter eggs will please me.

I sure hope not.
That would just add unnecessary performance problems.

EQ:N has destructible environments, however it was built that way from the off using Voxels or Boxels (couldn't hear clearly) so I suppose PS2 wasn't so it won't be coming here. Shame.

I have to say it looked great although it is very hard to judge based on a short presentation.

I like the idea of EQ:Foundation, I think that's what it was called. ** EQ:N Landmark oops.

Good luck to them, what they did looked cool and I reckon I'll be trying it out for sure.

EQ2 wont have near the data load on its network. And graphic precision wont matter near as much.

These 2 points allow EQ Next to be built in a totally different manner.

The only impact it'll have is sucking developers from Planetside most probably, in fact I bet most of the development has been moved on now anyways.

Yeah I get that feeling as well. I think the only feature of Everquest Next that might get ported to PS2 will be the dynamic AI if they ever decide to add AI enemies into PS2. Like say an Alien bug race that swarms around hunting for certain resources attacking facilities that produce them. But if you kill enough of them they decide to go some place else safer. Doubt it would take much effort to port this straight from the Orc AI they mentioned in the reveal.

funny considering that PS2 and EQN have total different development teams. sure some people might've been moved over to EQN but not as much as you are implying.

i really doubt that , actually maybe some of the EQ1 and EQ2 devs might of moved to the PS2 team but ps2 being soe current most successful game. They wouldn't reduce the team at least not until EQN is proven a success because if EQN fails they can then fall back on ps2

I agree with you seeing that PS2 and EQN are the flapships of SOE's future. I was merely suggesting that there might be some people (interns perhaps?) that are moved around from team to team, but not majority of the team like EviloHomer suggests.

At least one may have (@ALapidis) but overall I dont think its going to be enough to worry about.
Wouldn't be surprised if they work on both.

EQN looked really good. I am not really a fan of MMORPG's, but that looked really good and interesting. I will definitely try it out if I get in the beta and/or after release.
