As any pilot may know this past month has been quite a horrible experience with dealing with this new broken mechanic. I also know there has been previous threads on this matter but there has been some kind of rumor that this bug was actually fixed, I am here to say that is not true.
In fact from my personal experience and that of my air wing we feel that it has only gotten worse since their supposed fix of lock on missiles. Along with continual degradation of server performance this bug seems to get worse and worse. Though there are ways to still prevent hits by popping flares before the missile is launched this to has been less successful due to server lag and instant lock ons over large fights. It is a sad thing when I already begin to land to repair before the missile even hits me even after popping flares. SOE this bug is game breaking for all vehicle users, aircraft especially. We cannot continue to suffer a years worth of nerfs to only be ignored when you break the weapons of one of our greatest counters. I cannot understand why this hasn't been resolved even with your focus on improving performance. It would be one thing if this was a minor bug but to allow a fire and forget weapon system a near 100% chance to score a hit upon launch is simply ludicrous. I truly hope one of you devs takes the time to read this and actually go experiment with these claims. I am trying my damnedest to keep my outfit and myself interested in this game but the lack of caring on such a broken mechanic is disturbing to many. This issue needs to be fixed a month ago, if you want a pilot base left before BF4 hits this should be a priority on the fix list. |

Oh no, do you know what it's like flying over any moderately populated area with a liberator?
Constant lock ons, be it flying over VS or NC.... all I hear is that annoying beep of lock ons.... and I get to watch my slowly descending health bar as they impact. And it's never just one... the first one hits... still locked on.. second.. third.. fourth.. fifth... then a drop pod usually hits me. |

While I can't argue that lock-ons aren't broken. There's a reason everyone and there mother uses them. The risk to reward ratio for a smart ESF pilot is just insane. I know we make fun of people who spout on about K/D's but the numbers are there to prove it. I'm sorry you're not having a great time in PS2 Snafu but this top tier pilot niche is just one of many minorities in PS2 that are dissatisfied right now. Lock on's to you would be like what the ZOE is to infantry and the Vulcan is to armor. Of course we all have to deal with lockons.

Everyone faces the same dilemna that everything can kill them regardless of what they are running. Infantry, armour, or air. They can all kill each other. Tanks/Sundies have the worst of it. They lack the manueverability that air has while still dealing with lock-ons, plus throw in tank mines and C4. The only advantage land units have over air is the fact they can jump out and repair quicker then air units.

however Every weapon except knife and prox mines can kill ESF wile a sundie does not have to worry about small arms fire. Can your tank get hurt from the lonely medic with just a carbine and a pistol? No? Nuff said. |

The main issue here is the lock ons are currently borked hard. Though air has always been the hardest and most nerfed aspect of PS2 it has reached a new low with this current bug that plagues us. The fact that we render at such an extreme range for infantry while they spam unavoidable ordinance at us makes me hate the game. I'm not asking for a nerf today, I just want them to fix this god awful bug. Worst part is they said they had a fix for it yet they are holding it for unknown reasons. |
