A reward suggestion for capturing a base.

The beta boards seem filled with posts about the lack of reason to defend a base that was long fought for. I agree with this, as it stands right now there is little incentive to stay at a base you have captured. Most people have the mindset that its boring and a waste of time sitting around defending a base and others are so greedy to gain experience points they would prefer letting the enemy re-take the base only to take it back again just for the exp.

I would propose a system where a base that you have newly captured wouldnt allow you to obtain vehicles or max units until it had been under your control for a set period of time. 30 mins or an hour for example. Or maby a progression .... after 20 mins you can get light vehicles ...... after 40 max units ......... an hour everything is available. Again, the times here are just examples.

This would give people an incentive to defend a base because they would be able to do something they couldnt do right away with it. It would also give the enemy the incentive to keep attacking since the longer they keep the base out of enemy hands the more chance they have of not having to deal with heavier reinforcements from whithin the base.

Anyone care to tweak this suggestion?

EXP bonus per kill if you are defending a home base. The progressive unit thing wouldnt work well I think, hell you can just get a max at a nearby tower and it would give a large advantage to any attacking force if the spawn in the fort couldnt access MAX/vehicles. The exp bonus per kill and/or exp based on every 5 minutes there is confilict in the bae everyone there gets xxx exp (50 or so.. not a huge amount but enough to justify staying). EXP bonus per kill would need to be substantial-- 20-40% or so.

Only reason right now to defend a base is to maintain a link so you can cap other bases

If you couldn't get all of those things - the MAXs, vehicles and all of the other good stuff - you would NOT be able to defend anything. Here is how it would go - one hot drop, attackers take the tower, then they enjoy slottering you for about 5 minutes, then they wait for the hack to go through and happily hop back into Gal going to the next base.

I'm pretty sure there is going to be a lot more D going on, once the game is released. With te release the number of players is going to increase dramatically, and battles for continents should take a whole different turn.
