Ive decided to come over to ps from daoc - I love daoc but the pve and cash farming are just a huge waste of time.
I have a few questions and some thoughts regarding outfits. 1. Equipment/vehicles - once youve got the cert do you have to buy them or is there a pool you just take one from? Is there currency at all? 2. Does the VOIP work as this would be a great improvement commmand wise over typing 3. I want to join a friendly outfit but one that has standardised training in things like fire + manouver, talking indirect fire onto target etc as from what ive read the aiming is more realistic than quake etc and rl tactics would probably benefit us greatly (I'm an Officer in the British Army irl) Friendly attitude and professional approach more important than rank tables or kiddy 733t. Can anyone reccommend one? 4. Whats the "levelling" curve like - daoc takes weeks/months of play to be competetive ie to get to L50. What do you need to be competetive here? 5. Ganking - is there such a thing as being shot by your own side? 6. Command rank - obviously Ill give this a shot - is it reserved for senior guys in an outfit. I reckon this game would be a blast of you split your troops up into cav, infantry, close air support etc but had everynoe trained to a basic standard in various skills (tanks use same principles of f+m as infantry). Most importantly a good voice net would give you a big advantage over others. Got the game on order and will see ya all ingame when it comes out in the UK - please post if you have room in your outfits ill either be a pilot or tank commander (know a few things about tanks:)) |

There are no bonuses for being higher BR (Battle Rank... lvl), except that higher BR's get implaint (which aren't a game breaker) and high BR's will be able to switch bewteen player types since they will have more cert points. For example, a BR 20 player may have enough certs to be an adv hacking infiltrator, a AI max, a reaver pilot, and an engineer. While he can't use them all at once, he can just go to equipment terminals and use whichever one he wants whenever. A lower BR player will only have enough certs to be one or two of those, but since there are very few prerequisites (such as hacking before adv hacking), that lower ranked player still has the ability to play any character type and be just like the higher levels. |

You should disreguard previos comments about leveling. The XP advancement will be ALOT slower than when released than what these guys are commenting on.
The only difference between BR1 and BR20 is options, but, having more options makes you better than lower level guys. It allows you to have better armor combined with heavier and multiple weapons and multiple cybernetic implants. The bueaty is, you can return your certifications and revamp what training you have if you want to change your setup. It just limits this to one every 24hrs. As for TK'ers, the penalties aren't that harsh as it takes ALOT to attain weapons lock. The thing is though, is that you may only play one faction on each server, so you can't just switch sides to mess with the enemies who just killed you.
