i wouldn't be too happy with that, i just mean, $5 would be like the perfect for an mmoFPS, this isn't really 'everquest' with shooting, it's a simple fps with still limited posibilities, i just mean; ps features:
* Vehicles * 20 Battleranks * Buildings * Lots equipment, but don't even think about saying it's like everyquest or any other RPG, it's simply guns, armors, you know, pretty much the tribesthingy here! * 3 armies, not different only other vehicles and some weapons. Is this worth $155,4 / year? I just mean, with that price you can buy a decent CPU each year aswell; 2.2Ghz is about $100 now... Memory (256Mb) about $58 Well that's just a VERY little bit more; ehem; well this isn't hardware so like $5 wuld be really much if you guys of SOE want really much peepz to join the battle then just think man; if you get 40000 peepz to play PS... You would make $2400000 each year if you only charge $5/month With like $12.95 you'll make... $6216000 SIX MILLION DOLLARS FOR SOME UPDATES? ARE YOU INSANE? IF IT IS THIS WAY HELL NO, I'M NOT PAYING; $5 ISN'T MUCH FOR NORMAL PERSONS, BUT $12,95 IS!!! AND YOU'LL GET EVEN ALREADY 2400000 F*CKING DOLLARS FOR ONLY THAT 5 DOLLAZ!!! please, think about the normal gamer, we won't just play planetside and just planetside; with half-life 2 coming up, CS:CZ, TF2, well damned planetside is done... I'll simply buy $200 for upgrades and i'll have a nice gamer pc, then i buy HL2 for a ONE-time payment of $50 and damned... oh damned... They are VEHICLES who actually drive the way they should in HL2! What are you waiting for damned? In begin of 2004 we'll be playing planetside; planetside in half-life 2!!!

Here's the price scheme I WISH they would implement:
$5/month for 5 hours of play. Then $2/hr after the first 5 hours until the next billing cycle. This keeps everyone happy. Those who can just afford $5 just pay $5 and be done with it. While those who love the game can play more at an additional cost. That'll solve EVERYONE's problem! See? Now ain't I the smart one. |

Price * 12 (=price for one year) * payers That's 6Millions 216k, and that's a lot! Since they could also use local webhosts for their servers and connections, this doesn't cost $6Mills, as they could use some connections between hosts so everyone could have a ping of at least 100, it would only increase performance and if they would do it this way, they couldn't get wrong; i just mean if you have the ISP who is running a PS-server, it would be a new feature of your ISP (internet service provider btw) And you say diablo1&2 don't use their own servers to run their games on, i don't get it, what servers do they use then? Blizzard servers as far as i know! 6Mills isn't too much, they did a great job surely but damn, a subscription costs 155/Year? THAT is much, i just can't believe you would have to pay like 3 games (full price, $50) each year, just to run one game who doesn't add any VERY special feature to the FPS-genre, exception for its size. So that's how i get 6Mills, and i wouldn't believe you if you told me the first year only 40k players would play PS, it's the max of a server and there will be several servers, and more players (100k is really not much if you look at certain MMORPGs) 100k players * 12 * 12,95 = 15 540 000 (says my calculator) as you see, i split up the numbers a bit, just to make stuff clear ^^

5*7 = 35 hours a week 35*4 = 140 hours a month 140-5 = 135 since you're talking about 5 hours per month costing 5.00$ So, that leaves you with 135 extra hours per month... 135*2 = $270.00 a month! Wow... that's NOT BAD AT ALL! *intense sarcasm* |
