just wondering if anyone on this forum knew of a website that sells comps that have P4 2gig + computers for around 500 or 600 bucks

You really can't get a great (whole) computer (I'm assuming this is for planetside) for $600. Sorry...

Go to pricewatch.com - it helps a lot if you want to build a really decent computer at great prices.

If you built one, maybe you could get a decent computer minus monitor and peripherals for about $600... maybe.

If you are willing to build your own system and go AMD you can get a decent gaming system, atleast start one, with about $500-$600. You can with Intel also, but its going to perform slower and cost you more to finish.

Check some of the posts for last few weeks, there are quite a few low cost systems listed in them. If you absolutely want to go Intel and don't want to build your own... sometimes you can find good deals from Dell. I personally wouldn't buy one for gaming system, as many don't even have freaking AGP slots so watch for that, and future upgradability is a joke. But i've seen some insane prices from them and lots of free upgrades. Like now they have free upgrades on HD's, Memory, and CD/DVD's in their home line of systems. Do a google on Dell Deals or Codes Coupons and you can find special price deals or codes to get even cheaper prices.

Other than that, get an Alienware financed system maybe. Also if you buy from a system builder you have to pay the license for Windows, cough, and that adds significantly to the cost unless you can get them to send it to you without an OS.
