My computer sucks like I really and truly don't know. Anywho here's what I'm getting to upgrade it to:
P4 Processor 2.0GHz
Seagate 80.0GB
e-GeForce4 MX 440 SE DDR SDRAM
Crucial Technology 256MB PC2100 DDR DIMM MEMORY

do not get an MX video card....

Do not just get 256MB memory

Get a GeForce4 TI 4200

Get at least 512MB memory.

Processor is good and the hard drive is good too.

Do you already have a P4 motherboard?

you told me you have $500 to spend. I hope you didn't already spend it all. I upgraded from a 933 to a 1.8Ghz system for around $500.

And you have $500 left? If so, you probably should have gone the AMD route instead of the Pentium route.

If you can return your processor, I would do that.

Generally, those on a tight budget would opt for the AMD route.

When you get into the P4 world, it gets very expensive.
