Destroyable weapons?

Is it possible to shoot at an enemies gun and destroy it? I think it would be cool. Or could you shoot a gun out of their hands?

I remember that you could do that in tribes one, at least in some mods (I remember doing it with some spy suit and a magnum or some such, was a long time ago.

I'm 99.99999999% sure that it isn't implemented and that it will never be implemented. The idea is cool, yes, but after a while, most people will find out the trick to doing so and everybody will be gun-less. Now I would much rather want a fun game where I can keep my gun until I'm dead rather than losing it because somebody shot it out of my hands.

Tribes 1 Insomniax Mod you could shoot the gun out of someones hand with the sniper rifle, but only if you hit them in the hand with a fully charged shot. It was never a huge problem, because your gun didn't get destroyed and you could just pick it up. It added a nice element to the game.
