The knife's shape does the work for you in most things and there's almost no risk of having the blade cut deeper than you want when opening things or cutting yourself if it slips. Only downsides is the damn things are hard to sharpen and can't stab well. Using a hook knife in a fight just fits better in the hand as well if you're like me and prefer holding something backwards (blade to the forearm) like how the quick attack is in game. The shape also gives a little extra reach from the knife tip sticking out and once that gets in something it'll dig in on its own without having you need any extra force. What would be a cut with a normal knife, is a deep gash with a claw. Why go against nature when the claw shape has worked perfectly for millions of years on every single predator that existed? |
