So, not only Disney took over LucasFilms, they also shut down LucasArts. Technically, this makes it so every game developed in SW-based franchise will now have to be put through Disney. And we all know how many and how very quality their products are. Also this means that 1313, the rare and welcomed game without any jedis involved is also cancelled. To be honest I don't see much changing really, except for those who have lost their jobs. The last game they developed in house was the latest Force Unleashed II, the vast majority of their games the past many years have been licensed games.
The LucasArts of old died a long time ago. Those who were fired will probably find jobs with the many companies that were licensed to develop games for LucasArts. The only possible problem now is that all of the LucasArts IPs now rest with Disney. 1313 might still be salvageable if they get a third party developer to complete it. All this "said". This is the end of an era and it shouldn't come as a surprise of how I feel about their adventure games I also had great fun with a lot of their Star Wars games, but again that was the LucasArts from years back and not what was closed down.

LucasArts died long before Disney made it official.
Search your feelings, you know it to be true. The people who made LucasArts... well... LucasArts went on to better and brighter things. Like Psychonauts. I mean seriously, when was the last time you saw a game with the LucasArts logo attached to it that wasn't just a Star Wars licensed game? I personally hope they license some of the old LA franchises to the companies that the former LA team have moved on to. |

Disney are the very last people who should've been anywhere near LucasArts. Of course, you have to wonder WTF a man like George Lucas was even thinking selling it to them...
Hopefully the team that was working on 1313 simply quit the company and start their own; then they'd have the opportunity to possibly continue the project independent of a studio led by a giant mouse. |

I'm guessing that, since most of the Lucasarts' recent games were licensed anyway, a lot of those whom were fired will get jobs at the studios that used to develop their games.

For those of you who pay attention to where the individual game devs themselves go and not just a company logo, I direct you to a game called Primordia which is available on Steam.
It seems it was made by the same people responsible for the Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion series. Albeit slightly less humorous. Closer to The Dig's level of seriousness. |

So a new Battlefront doesn't seem too far fetched anymore.
