News: What would you like to see?

Every so often I do up one of these threads to gauge the communities usage of PlanetSide Universe. We have been around over 10 years and done many different things in those years. Times have changed quite a bit since we first fired up the site way back in the day.

What would you like to see us provide in the future? We already provide some very popular features and have in my opinion the best PlanetSide 2 Discussion on the Internet.

So what say you community?

A short list but.

1. Definitely more meta-game
2. Collect some reader suggestions and allow voting for one of them on the roadmap.

A section for specifically applying for outfits would be neat. I know there's an outfit section where people can make threads about the outfits and such, but one for specifically applying would help to keep track of how many are in which outfits.

Firstly you do and have always done a great job. PSU is the only place really to discuss planetside where the operator doesn't force their own agenda or run it like a police state(looking at you Soe mods)

Features wise its pretty much all you need, i'm sure the stats stuff will expand as the api does and gryphons time/effort allows.

Social media wise, i think the balance is fine, facebook isnt spammy.

Just continue to provide a forum for open discussion with a dash of sillyness and it will only lead to another 10years.

Oh less basti on AGN.

I personally am fine with the site the way it is, I check it every morning and afternoon for updates, and watch the videos for info about patches.

I haven't been on the forums in a while, but that's because I've stopped playing, I'm waiting for my new PC (This one's 4 or so years old) so that I can get minimal lag.

I would be interesting to see a hosted metagame system here on PSU. Think grassroots esports. PSU could organize a challenge, perhaps even cross-server ... Invasions of low pop servers over a weekend, or over Esamir/Amerish. Races across all three continents, first to get their entire team to the finish line wins.
Or possibly an API to show outfit 'progession' - population, avg BR, daily xp gain, daily caps, kills et. Metrics to actually compare outfits performance.

I agree with most of these points. PSU has the highest quality of discussion, the best API usage around and some awesome sigs.

The only thing I disagree with is that less basti is needed on AGN. I think MORE basti is necessary.

I tend not to use the PSU forums, but do use it as as source of news as well as the stats. I know we all have twitter now and catch glimpses of new stuff put out there, and we can all watch FNO or the Higby / TRay monthly things, or go to Reddit or these forums or wherever to see things shared. But that's a lot of trawling to get info. What I can't find for PS2 is anyone collecting all these 'tidbits' in some kind of bulletin.

Basically, if there's anyone with the time, some kind of 'weekly bullletin' of PS2 updates and info would be very welcome. This week we'd have the announcement of the new rocket launchers incoming, the new SMGs from FNO, the new customisation from FNO, the Deliverer (?) teased in the Higby / TRay show, the NS revolver. As well as some important hotfix changes, a new MANA turret, and render changes. That's a lot of stuff in the past week alone, and only the most dedicated follow all tweets & threads etc. will have got all of that.

So, yeah, I'd like to see a 'weekly bulletin' or some such thing that collates all the bits of news to come out of PS2, and I think PSU would be a great place to host that kind of thing.

Also really excited about the stats. Esepcially outfit stats. But until the new SOE players site comes out, it's difficult to tell what could be done with it that SOE aren't already planning. One thing that comes to mind is that PS2 lacks any kind of centralised hub for outfit details. The API would be incredibly useful for this. Outfit deatils for each server including leaderboards + some kind of customisable wiki-style space for each outfit as a central hub for outfits would be so much better than what's currently cobbled together on the PSU wiki and the PS2 wikia...

Edit: On that note, I've just gone and updated the "list of outfits" template over at the PSU wiki to add a column that contains a link to the PS2 stats page on PSU.

This is a great suggestion! We would just need someone to step up and handle it.

I know you're a busy guy, and not that I don't appreciate all the hours of entertainment Jennyboo provides us with each week, but we need some Hamma action as well!

Yeah website is great Hamma,

I would perhaps get rid of some of the sub forums people never use. Like the Media section only needs 1 Forum.

Also adding the Lounge up the top of the page. So people post there more instead of the PS2 section.

And Finally. More AGN's with the community. Should do them weekly :P You have an awesome set up that should be utilised more. And getting outfits / players on them will be great for the community.

1 More thing. Server Forums! Please. You would get loads of people from community that way.
