IP banned from SOE forums

this is complete bullshit. I am ip banned from there forums cuz I told a mod that he makes 15 cent an hour and he couldn't speak English after he gave me a warning wtf is this bullshit.

Your post in of itself should explain why your IP was banned, but i have a feeling theres a little more backstory here.

You insulted a mod after he warned you, what did you expect?

Sure if you catch him on a good day he might just overlook it, but imo that shouldn't have come as a surprise. Now one could debate the harshness of an ip ban in this situation vs. a 7day suspension (or whatever alternative they have over there), but being a forum mod/admin myself for over 15 years i can kinda relate to that guy.

Also when i still posted on the SOE forum i wrote some pretty harsh stuff myself, yet never got banned or even warned (as far as i know atleast).
It's all about how you word things.

okay so I have a few banned forums accounts. and I said way worse things. to a mod before but an ip ban is stupid as hell. I just logged on at my girlfriends house and they banned my account from the forums as well so time to make a new account and just get a new ip. and the ticket system doesn't work so I cant even fight it. which is total bs in itself

So you've had multiple accounts banned from the forums? It seems to me that an IP ban is reasonable.

what amazes me is that you wanted BanD's email so you could contact him directly.

Hell,you can't keep it together on a waste-of-time game forum,what in the hell makes you think you are the guy that should be in direct contact with anyone involved with SOE/PS?

I do have a few different email addy's for ppl @ SOE from working things out with them over the last decade, it was a good thing that I followed my first instinct and didn't volunteer any of that info.

first off I talk to gm Praesum no1 else since he is the only person that actually matters on the subject for ps1. any mod that I have contact with is just another drone that has no say in anything.

Unlike the other people on this forum i actually care what happens to ps1. I was the one who found out the lead gm for ps1. I found out who to go to with question. I was the one who lost 3 forum account to finally get them to response i did all that for a game that i love to play. I care and want this game to thrive so yes i am unliked by the mods but atleast i put effort into finding out aton of info that no1 else thought to look into. So yes they don't have to talk to me but they will since an ip ban can be dealt with by unplugging my router. They banned my work ip too.... but not my gfs ip so i can still see the forums over her house.

So lets walk through this. You assume SOE is the only ones with the ability to contact people who used to play PS1, so you badger them enough to get not one but 3 account bans and one IP ban, right?

The reason you want back on the forums is to check on PS1 stuff. A game that SOE has decided to make F2P, but has offically announced that there will be no future development towards the game.

That in and of itself means there is no more money coming in from it so they're not reinvesting any money in it. Its a used car that is sold "as is". Personally I love that it's going F2P, but when they said no future development, that really is the last nail in the coffin. The instant it falls over it will stay there. They'll have a "oops, we're sorry" email or something, but with it being free, they have no future obligation to do anything about it.

So let's hypothetically say you get traction and someone emails all the old players and says hey we're F2P forever, between the ones that come back to try it, and the hackers that come in to test their skills, and the... well maybe some newbs that heard about it from PS2 or somewhere, let's say that adds up to a bunch of people, enough to cont-lock.

What happens then?

1) The game experiences a resurgence and is so popular that it needs a second server. No money so no server.

2) The massive influx of players end up in a zerg that craters the current box. Remember, it hasn't had much attention and is probably on old hardware, not even migrated to one of their blade racks or anything. What happens when the ethernet juice leaks out on the motherboard? The magic smoke comes out of a component or two and it's toast.

I bet that when it does fall over, we get an email that the Vanu coming back to reclaim their technology that the VS were so hot for and vaporized Auraxis. That suddenly the spawn terms were locked out and you actually died for once.

Have you asked Hamma if he'd send out to PSU subs?
P.S. Dont' badger him about it tho. You've seen what happens when you pester forum admins already.

And I can talk directly to Smedlonious Maximus about it. The last time I used that privilege was back when SWG was just about to go boom.

The problem is, even if you can open a dialogue, they still have a job to do. They are already making it free, the rest is up to us. Though I still would like to know which of the devs sabotaged it and introduced the gamebreaking bugs.
