Vanguard Vs. Prowler

okay, lets say there are 100 vangurads and 100 prowlers. who do you think would win? as for myself, I have no clue...

Depends, are they both fully manned? If so, I'd put my money on the Prowlers. 100 12mm guns should make short work of any [/i]vehicle[/i]. The Prowler has a shorter TTK vs a Vanguard too, so again, I'd say the Prowlers.

We're talking hypothetically, if all the crews had the exact same skill level.

A more accurate comparison would be 99 vanguards and 66 prowlers, since that would equate to the same amount of gunners. In that situation, the Vanguards, hand down.

Yeah, if you made it 99 and 66 it would easily be the vans, but that doesn't make any sense. Yeah, you have more gunners, but its 99 cannons vs. 66 cannons/66 mg's. The cannons would easily take out the prowlers much faster.

Edit: Not to mention, for every prowler you kill, you kill 2 gunners, for ever vangaurd, you only lose one.

Yes but I'm saying for the amount of people. It would take 198 Gunners and Drivers to fill up 99 vanguards, and it would take 198 Gunners and Drivers to fill up 66 Prowlers.

I think it would depend on the driver and gunner(s) of the two types of tanks. They are both pretty even.

Vanguards

12mm is crap and the prowler is just too slow. The strongpoints of the Prowler having the 12mm are not present in this scenario. 12mm is only good at killing infantry, scaring off reavers and being able to focus on 2 different targets simultainiously. If it were 100 Magriders vs Prowlers, I would however go with the Prowlers.

Also as Chewy pointed out, you would have 1/3rd more players on the prowler side. It stands to reason that a much larger force should win. Sadly in this scenario I think the much larger force would actually lose

Prowlers would win, they have the easier guns, and since the sides are skills even, the easier guns win.

Anyone who says the 12mm can't make a difference has never had a Mosquito playing tag with your ass...

The speed difference between the Prowler and Vanguard is 4kph...that wont be changing any battles...

The only way the battle would be won by the Vanguards is if everyone of their shots landed, which is harder than you think...

If the Prowlers lost I would be surprised...

You wouldn't need 100 of each though, just 10 would be sufficient...

PS: If the Van's and Prowler's armor were switched, there would be a new king on the battlefield (I like the idea, because Im tired of fighting shitty opponents)...

I wouldnt. One of the things my outfit was known for was armor collums. After a while we finally figured out it was better to take the man out of the useless 12mm and put them into Skyguards and Deliverers. Like I said before the Vanguard armor more than makes up for "easy guns" or any slight DPS advantage. Now of course we are talking a tank duel. I think the prowler excells in certain roles but dueling a Vanguard is most defininately not one of them.

Now of course this is before all the ammo box changes. I havent crewed a Vanguard since then so dont really know if its nerfed or not and never really played the 12mm after the patch either. I know before the patch wasting your 12mm shooting at anything but aircraft was idiotic. Well, I guess you could go after the occasional MAX suit, but you better have ammo left for a reaver
